The painter's way - 112 wild-romantic kilometres through Saxon Switzerland. Past the nicest views which the national park has to offer nicely famous artists walked like Caspar David Friedrich, Carl Gustav Carus, Adrian Zingg and Gustav Graff (latter are the name givers of Saxon Switzerland) by the weird rock nature and held on the beauty spots on canvas.
Along these famous pictures you walk along and discover the same views like the artists. Maybe you feel like yourselves once trying in the art of the paint.

In 8 day stages the whole way is to walk. Besides, you pick up to yourselves in every stage a picture with the hosts in the painter's way. A nice recollection for home!

Schmilka and the hotel  Helvetia lie directly with the painter's way. Here in Schmilka one has created exactly half of the way. He changes in Schmilka over the Elbe. Schmilka is a stage aim and one can spend the night without transfer use three spots here.
