Go aboard a more than 100 year-old steam engine-pursued steamboat.

Nine historical bicycle steamboats encloses the oldest and biggest paddle-steamer fleet of the world: The Saxon steam navigation.

From Seußlitz near Meissen to Bad Schandau the steamboats shovel themselves by the Dresden glen of Elbe (UNESCO world heritage) and the Elbe canyon in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. On the shore one sees nice places, castles and idyllic natural areas and landscape protection areas.
The line journeys are ideal to drive sometimes a section or a whole day tour.

The ships are moving museums and stand under conservation of monuments and historic buildings. Not only for technology freaks it is a pleasure to marvel at the impulse technology which functions after more than 100 years still like a clockwork.

In May the international Dixieland festival takes place in Dresden. Everywhere in the town one hears blues, Boogie and swing, live played under free sky or in known Locations.

At the beginning to the Dixieland festival the steamboat parade takes place on the 1st of May traditionally. On nine historical bicycle steamboats live music is played, danced and celebrated. Who only rather watches, the spectacle from the terrace shore can visit.

From 2012, finally, again journeys in our direction!

From 2012 it is again so far: The steamboats go, sniff and toot again along our house. Long time the ships went only to Bad Schandau, however, now a steamboat from Bad Schandau Elbe upward  starts again regularly in the direction of Schmilka. Enjoy a snug journey shortly before the dinner and impress yourselves by the Elbe canyon with look at the Schrammstones.

Once a week a certificated national park leader will strengthen live the natural impressions in the Elbe canyon for the passengers on the ship.
